Empire State Ride Long Island announces cycling fundraiser ride for cancer
Empire State Ride Long Island will host its annual cycling fundraiser to raise money for cancer research on Saturday, June 14 at the bandstand outside of the Town of Oyster Bay Town Hall, 74 Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay.
The funds raised will go toward clinical research and trials that will benefit cancer patients at six Catholic Health Cancer Institutes on Long Island and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, the nation’s first cancer center in the United States dedicated exclusively to cancer research. Over the past five years, this event has raised nearly $500,000 to support cancer research and clinical trials.
The ride features four different course lengths for riders of all ages and abilities. The routes begin and end in downtown Oyster Bay, passing beaches, woodlands, and historic destinations in and around the Town of Oyster Bay.
This year, ABC News reporter and cancer survivor Stacey Sager will be recognized by the organization, which will present her with its Courage Award.
