Privacy Policy

While our full privacy policy is available below, we know most people never read them, so we are including a brief summary here as well.

At The Long Island Times, we value your privacy and your browsing experience when you visit our website. We know how frustrating it can be to watch your computer start heating up and making noise after you visit a site that is filled with trackers and ads. We don’t want you to feel like reading the news is a drag, so we try to limit the number of scripts loaded on our site. to just the ones we need to use for basic logging and analytics.

If you sign up for our email newsletters, we only require an email address and first name, and we will never share your email address or personal information with anyone.

We use Google Analytics to track total page views, visitor engagement and other metrics, and we use Facebook Pixel to help us reach readers that have visited our site when we promote stories on Facebook. You can limit or block trackers and cookies in your web browser settings (we recommend Firefox for its privacy controls).

If any substantial changes or updates are made to our privacy policy below, we will note it. Thank you for being a reader and supporting local news.
