Music documentary film festival kicks off at LIMEHOF next week

The Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame will hold its very first  Music Documentary Film Festival next week.

The event takes place from Friday, August 8 through Sunday, August 10 at LIMEHOF’s museum at 97 Main St. in Stony Brook.

This festival will showcase feature length and short music documentary films from around the world that examine music topics like music history, tours, biographies, festivals, music education, concerts, culture and music technology.

The Zombies Movie

Films about The Beatles, The Zombies, Steppenwolf, the Montreux Festival, LIMEHoF Inductees Harry Chapin, Garland Jeffreys, Ron Delsener and Public Enemy – and even one about Blotto (“I Wanna Be a Lifeguard”) will be among the 24 features shown.

Several of the screenings also include filmmaker Q&A panels and scheduled live performances by Billy J. Kramer, Brady Rhymer, Sandra Taylor and A Band Called Sam, Guggenheim Grotto’s Mick Lynch, Naked Blue, Public Enemy’s DJ Johnny Juice, Jennifer Silecchia-Hackett, Mega Infinity, and more.

The film festival’s presenting sponsor is Catholic Health and other sponsors include Northville, PSEG, Claire Friedlander Family Foundation, Optimum, Aline Wealth Management, Lessings Hospitality and The EGC Group.

The festival also includes opening and closing night parties, tickets for which are available here. Individual movie tickets are also available for $10 each.
