Spies share stories at interactive historical house tour in Setauket

Preservation Long Island has announced Culper Spy Day 2025, presented by Three Village Historical Society and Tri-Spy Tours, on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Sherwood-Jayne Farm at 55 Old Post Road in Setauket.

The event will feature interactive tours with a different spin on George Washington’s Revolutionary War spy ring. Visitors will meet William Jayne, a Setauket British Loyalist known as “Big Bill the Tory”, played by an actor, who will share his views on the legendary Long Island-based patriot spy ring.

The Sherwood-Jayne property opens at 10 a.m. and the first special Culper Spy Day guided house tour begins at 10:30 a.m. Tours continue every half hour with the final tour at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5, free for members and children 9 years old and under. Visitors may enjoy free self-guided grounds tours all day.
