Town of Smithtown residents last month securely disposed of more than 18,000 pounds of personal documents at the town’s biannual shredding event.

The annual food drive supports the Brookhaven INTERFACE program.

Each student submitted artwork to bring awareness about alcohol and drug use.

The food drive takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27 and Sunday, Nov. 10.

The scholarships are available to Suffolk County residents who wish to obtain Certified Substance Abuse Counselor training through the Outreach Training Institute.

The Town of Smithtown earlier this month commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Edward J. Mankuski Firematic Training Center.

The event will help provide veterans with food support, dental services, assistance managing utility bills and more.

All proceeds from the event go toward funding the nonprofit’s mission of fostering youth STEM education programs.

New York State’s food donation and food scraps recycling programs help reduce waste.

The donation will bolster the foundation’s mission to honor and support first responders and military service members by providing mortgage-free homes to families of fallen heroes and injured veterans.

The annual VIP Night raises funds to support the foundation and its many community-based charitable activities while providing families with rides, food and entertainment.

Town of Oyster Bay officials oversaw the addition of 500,000 clam and oyster seedlings into the waters along the town’s north shore.

The nonprofit will hold a series of special events aimed at raising awareness and providing support for victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Long Island-based nonprofit Paws of War provided therapy dogs at the ceremony.

The free event features a variety of fun, family-friendly entertainment, including pony rides, music, games, prizes and a balloon artist. 

The grants are given to small businesses and nonprofit organizations that have faced economic challenges due to the rate environment, inflation, supply-chain constraints and/or rising energy costs.

The electrical contractor delivered the backpacks to two organizations.

Employees followed clues to solve a mystery and discover new things inside the museum in a fun, collaborative adventure. 

The Northeast Chapter of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America will host The Team Hope Walk on Sunday, Sept. 15 at Wantagh Park in Wantagh.

The Client Needs Project offers things like meal deliveries, basic health insurance, and even educational needs.
