Barking around the Christmas tree

Santa will be making room on his lap for pets this holiday season.

Visitors to Roosevelt Field in Garden City will be able to bring their pets to take a picture with Santa on six consecutive Sundays starting next month.

The pet photo nights are scheduled for Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Nov. 24, Dec. 1, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.

The Santa set receives extensive cleaning following the event to minimize potential risks to allergy sufferers, according to mall owner Simon Properties.

Of course the mall is not just going to the dogs. Kids can take photos with the Roosevelt Field Santa at the mall’s North Court from Friday, Nov. 1 all the way through Christmas Eve on Tuesday, Dec. 24.
