Ocean State Job Lot store relocating in Centereach

The Ocean State Job Lot store in Centereach is relocating to a new space.

The discount retail chain opened the store at 2150 Middle Country Road in Nov. 2016 and is now moving it to a vacant space in the same shopping center.

The Centereach store will remain open for in-person shopping through April 16 and the new store is expected to reopen early this summer, according to the company. During the relocation, shoppers can visit the chain’s other locations at 3083 Jericho Turnpike in East Northport and 1482 Deer Park Ave. in North Babylon.

“We are looking forward to the relocation of our Centereach store,” Paul Cox, director of Store Operations for Ocean State Job Lot, said in a company statement. “Aside from expanding our physical footprint throughout the pandemic, we have brought new life into a number of dormant properties throughout the Northeast, and we look forward to bringing an improved, upgraded shopping experience to the Centereach community this summer.”

Ocean State will be hiring more staff to support the new Centereach location. Positions include store leadership, supervisory, full-time, and part-time positions. The company offers part-time and full-time benefits, a 30% associate store discount, and a cash bonus referral program.

Founded in 1977, Ocean State Job Lot is a privately held discount retail chain with 147 stores in New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, with about 5,600 employees and annual sales exceeding $800 million.
