Hockey With a Heart benefits Habitat for Humanity

Long Island hockey fans can enjoy their favorite sport while also helping an important cause.

As part of the New York Islanders “Hockey With a Heart” program, people attending one of their upcoming games will be supporting Habitat for Humanity of Long Island.

A portion of the proceeds from the upcoming New York Islanders vs. Edmonton Oilers game will directly benefit the nonprofit that provides affordable housing for hardworking local families.

With every ticket purchased for the game, $5 will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at the UBS Arena at 2150 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont.
