Green Acres hosts Little League awards, presents scholarships to high school seniors
Green Acres in Valley Stream awarded scholarships to Valley Stream high school students this month and hosted a Little League award night on Thursday, June 26.
The shopping mall presented $500 scholarships to three students, one from each of the Valley Stream high schools, during their respective senior awards nights. Green Acres awarded scholarships to honor the students, who were selected for their outstanding commitment to community service, for their dedication to volunteerism and their lasting impact on the local community.
The scholarship recipients included Patrick Biondolillo of Valley Stream South High School, Ericka Leus of Valley Stream North High School, and Madeleine Autar of Valley Stream Central High School.
“We’re honored to recognize the incredible students and young athletes who help make our community so special,” said Jill Bromberg, community relations manager at Green Acres. “Whether it’s through academic achievement, volunteerism or teamwork on the field, these individuals embody the values the center is proud to support..”
Green Acres also sponsored and hosted Little League’s end-of-season award ceremony, held at the center on June 26. The event welcomed more than 200 Little Leaguers and their families for an evening celebrating the season’s achievements, with each young athlete receiving an end-of-season award medallion and the opportunity to take team photos.
