Long Island Nets to host annual Summer Fest at Jones Beach in August

The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, recently announced its annual Summer Fest community celebration will take place on Saturday, Aug 23 at Field 4 at Jones Beach.

The event will feature a live DJ and music, performances by the Long Island Nets Dance Team, a meet-and-greet with team mascot Dale the Eagle, and free giveaways from the team and community vendors.

This year, for the first time, Summer Fest will feature two youth basketball clinics, a youth dance clinic, and a 5K Run Club. The 5K Run Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. and is open to participants of all ages.

The team will also launch their Back-to-School Donation Drive at Summer Fest in support of local students on Long Island. Attendees are encouraged to donate traditional school supplies to help youth in the Long Island community start the school year strong.
