KPMG volunteers make a difference at Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club

Accounting and advisory firm KPMG LLP celebrated its nationwide Community Impact Day today at the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club at 113 Glen Cove Ave. in Glen Cove, where several KPMG associates spent the morning volunteering.

The volunteers worked with over 100 students involved in various activities throughout the morning, including running a book fair, distributing backpacks filled with school supplies, and guiding a creative session where kids painted inspirational rocks to display along the club’s walkway.

“Our Community Impact Day creates a powerful opportunity for everyone at our firm to live our values” said Maureen Davenport, principal in charge, corporate affairs KPMG U.S. “When we volunteer together with impactful nonprofits, we are reminded of the strength we find in community and the opportunity we all have to help students, teachers, families, and neighborhoods thrive.”

In total, 79 KPMG offices across the country participated in the annual event, which is part of KPMG’s broader corporate responsibility focus. Last year, KPMG employees volunteered more than 131,000 hours.
