IKEA toy drive supports the John Theissen Children’s Foundation
For the 11th straight year, IKEA has hosted a toy drive in a partnership with the John Theissen Children’s Foundation.
This year the IKEA drive has collected over 400 toys and stuffed animals, thanks to the generosity of the store’s workers, customers and local community.
“We’re honored to team up with IKEA once again for our annual toy drive,” said John Theissen, executive director and founder of the John Theissen Children’s Foundation. “We thank IKEA’s visitors and co-workers for their generosity and look forward to putting smiles on children’s faces while showing them they’re part of a caring community.”
The toys will bring smiles and comfort to sick and underprivileged children in hospitals and child-care facilities across the area.
“Thank you to the John Theissen Children’s Foundation for supporting the children in our community, the most important people in the world,” said Amy Jensen, IKEA Long Island market manager. “We’re proud of our co-workers, customers and community for coming together to make a difference.”
The toy donation bin at IKEA Long Island will continue accepting new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 31, so folks can continue to help spread holiday cheer.
Since 1992, the John Theissen Children’s Foundation has brightened the holidays for over 1 million children, making a real difference in the lives of families. Learn more about the John Theissen Children’s Foundation here: www.jtcf.org.
