National Grid cuts ribbon on BioBus at LI Children’s Museum
National Grid launched its BioBus mobile STEM learning center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Long Island Children’s Museum (LICM) in Garden City on Tuesday.
National Grid, BioBus, and the LICM are coming together to expand access to hands-on STEM learning for children and families across Long Island. Through a new three-year grant, sponsorship of Engineering Week, and the launch of the all-electric National Grid–sponsored BioBus, National Grid continues to invest in the next generation of innovators while strengthening its long-standing partnership with LICM.
During the February school break week, National Grid is sponsoring Engineering Week at the LICM, where families are invited to collaborate, create, and problem-solve while engineering the ultimate Emerald City. Using sustainable and recycled materials, visitors will help build a growing “green” city sculpture designed to spark creativity, teamwork, and environmental awareness while introducing foundational engineering concepts through play.
The BioBus will serve as a traveling STEM learning center, bringing immersive, hands-on science experiences directly to children throughout Long Island and beyond for years to come.
National Grid has partnered with the Long Island Children’s Museum for more than 15 years, supporting STEM initiatives that inspire curiosity and learning in young people.
