Children’s nonprofit holds Winter Wonderland Festival and Scholastic Book Fair

Variety Child Learning Center (Variety), a nonprofit organization for children with differing abilities, recently hosted its annual Winter Wonderland Festival and Scholastic Book Fair at its Syosset campus. 

Aimed at celebrating and supporting children with differing abilities while encouraging school pride and involvement, the event gave students the chance to participate in activities such as mock sledding and paper plate skating, sensory experiences, a hot chocolate marshmallow toss, music, dancing, and more.  

During the book fair, students had the opportunity to choose from a selection of books to read or have read to them during the school break, supporting the goal of encouraging consistent reading habits.
