LEGO bricks nature sculptures coming to Old Westbury Gardens

Old Westbury Gardens will host Sean Kenney’s “Nature Connects,” an award-winning exhibition that features sculptures made of LEGO bricks, from Saturday, May 16 through Monday Sept. 7. OWG members can get a preview on Friday, May 15.

“We believe that meaningful encounters with nature can spark curiosity and creativity at any age,” said Maura Brush, president and CEO of Old Westbury Gardens. “Sean Kenney’s ‘Nature Connects’ beautifully captures that idea, using art to illuminate the remarkable relationships that shape the natural world. We look forward to welcoming visitors to explore these imaginative works throughout the gardens this season.”

Produced by Imagine, Kenney’s work depicts topics that the artist holds dear, from protecting an animals’ habitat to planting a garden.

The exhibition is open daily (except Tuesdays) to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission is $22; $20 for ages 62+ and full-time students with valid ID; $12 for children ages 7–17; and free for children 6 and under. Tickets will be available to purchase at www.oldwestburygardens.org starting Sunday, March 15.
