TeenHacks LI to hold virtual coding triathlon

Instead of its annual in-person Hackathon, TeenHacks LI is going virtual this year with its first-ever triathlon event.

Budding computer programmers and software designers will be able to participate in three separate events: a Learn-a-thon, Hackathon, and Share-a-thon.

The Learn-a-thon will take place on Nov. 7 and will be a full day of virtual workshops on coding, STEM panels, internships, college apps, and more. The Hackathon on Nov. 14 will be a full day of hacking and learning from mentors. The Share-a-thon on Nov. 21 encourages sharing and demonstrations of creations with the rest of the community.

Founded by Jeffrey Yu and Wesley Pergament, TeenHacks LI brings together the brightest students across the tri-state area to engage in “collaborative coding,” with the goal of building a hacker community here on Long Island with an emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship.
