NICE Bus manager wins transit leadership award

Manpreet Bajwa, manager of transportation for NICE Bus, was honored by the New York Public Transit Association with its 2022 Leadership Award.

Bajwa earned the recognition for her initiatives to improve service on the NICE (Nassau Inter-County Express) bus system that serves an average of 80,000 riders daily.

A resident of Garden City Park, Bajwa joined NICE in 2017. As manager of transportation, she leads a team which focuses on solving daily problems which may cause delays and sets the standard for NICE’s rider-centric focus employed by its managers, supervisors and over 450 drivers.

“NICE Bus is focused first and foremost on providing reliable and affordable public transportation which meets the needs of our communities and our riders, and Manpreet Bajwa has been at the forefront in pioneering initiatives that help us meet the expectations of our riders,” Jack Khzouz, CEO of NICE Bus, said in a written statement. “We are thrilled that the NYPTA membership has recognized Manpreet’s work on data analysis of transit delays and how her operational improvements have boosted our on-time performance to consistently over 90 percent.”
