Conference presenter Kaylie Glenn, founder of The Day By Day Project, demonstrates the unique "Memory Disco"—a multi-sensory musical experience specifically designed for the needs of dementia care—to conference attendees. The Memory Disco experience will now be offered as part of The Long Island Museum’s free “In the Moment” series of programs designed to creatively engage those living with Alzheimer’s disease. Long Island Museum hosts 9th annual Arts & Alzheimer’s Conference

The Long Island Museum in Stony Brook hosted its 9th annual Arts & Alzheimer’s Conference on Thursday, June 26.

The event brought together more than 50 family care partners, healthcare workers, and staff at cultural organizations throughout Long Island providing those caring for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory loss with meaningful ways to connect through the arts.

The conference, which was offered free to the community thanks to anonymous funding, was created to provide family and professional care partners with insight into how the arts can enrich the lives of those with memory loss.
