Faraway Sag Harbor replaces the former Baron’s Cove

Blue Flag Capital has opened Faraway Sag Harbor, a reimagining of the 67-room former Baron’s Cove hotel.

The brand, which also owns and operates Faraway Nantucket and Faraway Martha’s Vineyard, has created another luxury retreat to the Hamptons waterfront and Blue Flag’s second East End property, following the opening of Hotel Corduroy in Montauk earlier this season.

The new Sag Harbor hotel features a lobby bar and lounge, covered porch, and lush outdoor patio, as well as a heated pool and terrace with lounge seating and firepits, a fitness center, spa treatment rooms seasonally operated by ONDA Beauty, and new padel courts launching in late June.

In addition, Faraway Sag Harbor also features Zagara, the hotel’s signature Amalfi Coast-inspired restaurant with an outdoor terrace and private dining room helmed by Executive Chef Jarad McCarroll. He most recently oversaw the culinary program at Montauk Yacht Club and previously led the culinary program at the five-star Relais & Châteaux property Hotel Le Toiny in St. Barths, where he was named Gault & Millau Chef of the Year for St. Barthélemy.

The Zagara menu is rooted in refined coastal cuisine, with signature dishes like a Salted Black SeaBass Tartare with caviar, horseradish cream, and dill oil, alongside house-made pastas and seafood-forward plates inspired by the Mediterranean coast.
