Tony’s Tacos opening at The Shops at SunVet

A new taco spot is coming to Holbrook.

Tony’s Tacos is expected to open later this month at The Shops at SunVet, located at 5801 Sunrise Highway. The space is about 4,400 square feet.

The menu offers more than 40 tacos, many of them with an Italian-American flair. Among those is the short rib Peter Luger, which features mashed potato, braised shredded beef, and Peter Luger sauce, as well as a Cuban taco with roasted carnitas, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and spicy mustard.

The kitchen also serves Italian-style rice bowls, quesadillas, loaded fries, salads and churros, with frozen margarita flavors including coconut, dragon fruit, guava and mango.

Tony’s Tacos was started in 2020 by Mike Scotto, an Italian-born chef, in a 12-seat storefront in Floral Park. The company also operates in Franklin Square, Garden City and Huntington.

Three more locations are planned. The concept is coming to the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream in November, Levittown in March 2027 and Deer Park Avenue in Babylon in the spring of 2027.
