Developer provides meals for staff at children’s hospital

Blumenfeld Development Group has provided hot meals for healthcare workers at Northwell Health’s Cohen’s Children Medical Center in New Hyde Park.

The meals, from La Parma restaurant in Woodbury, were distributed to the medical staff working in the Rudolph Emergency Department, Long Island’s only pediatric-dedicated emergency facility.

The Syosset-based development firm, for which the facility’s Blumenfeld Pavilion is named, has long been a supporter of the medical center. The Blumenfeld Pavilion is also home to the Children’s Medical Fund Center for Diagnostic Studies, the only pediatric-dedicated MRI unit on Long Island and the future home of the Pediatric Surgical Operating Complex.

“Our healthcare professionals are heroes, especially during this challenging time,” Ed Blumenfeld, president of the Blumenfeld Development Group, said in a company statement. “We know there is no way to repay these brave men and women for everything they are doing to keep us safe, but we can try to lessen their stress by donating meals and saying ‘lunch is on us.’ To healthcare workers everywhere, we salute you. Long Island recognizes your outstanding work and we cannot thank you enough.”
