Local student artist creates murals for new animal shelter

SUNY New Paltz student Meghan O’Reilly, who painted the oyster life cycle mural at the Islip Shellfish Hatchery in East Islip last year, is now creating two murals for Islip’s new animal shelter.

O’Reilly’s murals will be displayed in the main entrance of the new shelter, which is currently under construction at 210 Denver Ave. in Bay Shore. The facility is slated to be completed early next year.
