Town of Oyster Bay hiring at beaches, parks and pools

The Town of Oyster Bay is now hiring summer lifeguards and counselors to work at the town’s pools, parks and beaches.

The town is now accepting applications for lifeguard positions at all of the town’s beaches and pools for the 2019 summer season. Applicants must be at least 16 years old, possess a current lifeguard certification and a current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers.

Positions are also available for counselors for the town’s summer recreation program at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park and Tappen Beach. The summer program runs for 6 weeks from July 1 through Aug 9, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During the program, kids from ages 4 to 12 get the opportunity to play sports, participate in field trips and enjoy various themed events and parties.

Town officials say the summer jobs are ideal for Oyster Bay’s younger residents who want to build their resume while making a difference in their community.

Individuals can apply at the human resources office for the parks department inside Town Hall South at 977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa.
