WellLife Network launches campaign to address food insecurity
Long-Island based nonprofit, WellLife Network hosted special pantry stockings and community discussions on food insecurity on Long Island at their Huntington and Coram locations last week.
WellLife’s four food pantries on Long Island have seen a 30 percent surge in demand this year alone and demand for food assistance has risen sharply, according to the nonprofit. WellLife says more community members are turning to their food pantries due to rising costs and limited access to healthy, affordable options.
The events launched the nonprofit’s end of year campaign to raise funds to fill out the shelves at their food pantries and sustain their agency-wide nutrition assistance programs: The Well Fed at WellLife 2025 Campaign.
The goals of the campaign are to provide over 21,000 meals in 2026 through 100 donors giving $25/month and raise $20,000 by December 31 to ensure the community has food throughout the winter.
The funding from the campaign will help WellLife Network stock shelves, expand fresh food offerings, and ensure that vulnerable clients, including individuals with special needs, receive consistent, nutritious support.
