Ross Memorial Park, which was shuttered by the Town of Islip in Sept. 2020, is now open to the public with new features.

The mural at 92 Wicks Road was directed by artist Segundo Orellana and painted by students from Brentwood and Central Islip.

The event honored Mark and Joann Engel and the New Leader Award was presented to Nick and Siobhain Fusco.

The free event is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Marjorie R. Post Community Park in Massapequa.

The annual Autism Speaks Walk will be held at Jones Beach on Sunday, Oct. 8.
