Developer donates masks to Suffolk first responders

Blumenfeld Development Group recently donated 2,500 face masks to be used by members of Suffolk County emergency services.

Ed Blumenfeld, the president and founder of Syosset-based BDG, joined Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Suffolk County Police Chief of Department Stuart Cameron and Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services Commissioner John Jordan to mark the company’s donation and recognize its ongoing community support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jordan said the masks will be distributed to firefighters and police officers throughout the county.

“Supplying the necessary protection to the people on the front line is the least we can do,” Blumenfeld said. “The Suffolk County Police and community fire departments are confronting this pandemic on a daily basis and we want to make sure they are protected and safe while helping others.”

One of Long Island’s more prolific developers, BDG has built many commercial real estate projects around the New York metropolitan area and on Long Island, including the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park.
