New restaurant Juniper at The Vanderbilt opens

A new restaurant called Juniper at The Vanderbilt opened this week in Westbury.

Juniper is owned and operated by restaurateur James Mallios and Civetta Hospitality Group, which also runs Calissa in Water Mill, Amali in Manhattan and the recently opened Bar Marseille at The Tides in the Rockaways. Juniper, located within The Vanderbilt luxury apartment complex at 990 Corporate Drive, has Christopher D’Ambrosio as its executive chef.

The menu at Juniper includes an extensive raw bar along with simply grilled steaks and seafood. Signature dishes include Baked Bluepoint Grilled Oysters with Prosciutto ($24), Ribeye for Two with Bone Marrow ($95), and Duck with Juniper oil from Joe Jurgielewicz & Sons Duck ($34). All dishes will change seasonally with help from local farming partners.

The 3,100 square-foot indoor dining and bar area has 142 seats and the 1,100 square-foot outdoor patio has another 78 seats. Juniper at The Vanderbilt features a large outdoor dining patio, lively bar, and robust entertainment schedule including live music and DJs. Seating capacity will follow all state COVID guidelines.

The new restaurant, which also offers private event spaces for up to 100 guests, is open for dinner everyday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Juniper also features a Saturday and Sunday brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
