Guided hikes on Long Island offered for DEC Outdoors Day

Two guided nature hikes on Long Island are being offered as part of the New York State Department of Conservation’ Outdoors Day events next week.

The DEC’s annual Outdoors Day celebrations feature free, family-friendly recreation activities throughout the state. New York’s Outdoors Day coincides with National Get Outdoors Day, an annual event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun.

Here on Long Island, the free Outdoors Day events include a guided hike at Edgewood Oak Brush Plains State Forest at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 11 and a guided hike at the Ridge Conservation Area at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 12.
