Brokers group donates to Long Island Cares

The Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island has donated $5,000 to Long Island Cares.

The brokers organization presented the donation check at its annual summer gala held last week at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

The CIBS donation represents about 6,500 pounds of food or about 5,500 meals for those who are hungry or food insecure, according to Long Island Cares Harry Chapin Food Bank, which has been on a mission to feed Long Island’s food insecure and stamp out the root causes of hunger since its founding by the late Harry Chapin in 1980.

“We are grateful that we could make this contribution to Long Island Cares,” said Dan Wiener, CIBS president. “Over the years, CIBS has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Long Island nonprofit organizations, giving back to the community in which we live and work. Through our many annual events we have been able to offer financial support to dozens of amazing organizations.”
