Boy Scouts begin popcorn fundraiser

It’s popcorn time again for the Boy Scouts.

The Suffolk County Council of Boy Scouts announced the kickoff to their  annual popcorn fundraiser.

The event, which is the single largest fundraiser for the Suffolk Scouts, runs through Sunday, Oct. 30. Seventy percent of the popcorn purchases supports scouting in Suffolk.

The scouts will be selling Trail’s End popcorn at local Walmarts, Lowe’s, the Smith Haven Mall, the Walt Whitman Mall and many local supermarkets.

“Boy Scouts of America has been partnering with Trail’s End popcorn for years with 70 percent of the purchase price going directly to our local scouts”, Suffolk County Council District Director Bobby Rabbitt said in an organization statement. “If you are not a fan of popcorn, you can make a heroes donation which would then provide popcorn to first responders, our military, their families and local food banks.”
