Hofstra drama alums to perform at European festival

Five Hofstra drama alums will be performing at the European Young Theatre Festival, the only college students from the U.S. to be invited to the international showcase.

The selected Hofstra alums who graduated last month are Tori Bogacki, Kim Bramwell, Diante Ferguson, Jack Goodman, and Arianna Wentworth. The five will present Wentworth’s original one-act play “One Little Room.”

The European Young Theatre Festival runs from June 24 through June 28. It is part of the larger Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, which is now in its 66th year, according to a report from Hofstra.

“This is a truly unique opportunity for our recent Hofstra Drama and Rabinowitz Honors College grads,” Professor Cindy Rosenthal said in the report. “They will be showcasing their original work and talents in playwriting, directing, performance, music composition and design before an international audience of their peers and the esteemed artists, critics and academics who attend the Spoleto Festival.”

Students from schools throughout Europe are also participating in the festival, where student teams will compete for a prize of 1,200 euros, or about $1,000.
