True Partners Nonprofit Network awards $10,000 to Maurer Foundation at networking event
Leaders of dozens of nonprofits were in attendance for the True Partners Nonprofit Network (TPNN) annual “Cocktails and Conversations” event on Thursday Sept. 11 at the Muttontown Club in East Norwich.
The Maurer Foundation, a Melville-based breast health education charity, was chosen as the grand prize winner of a drawing for $10,000.
“Maurer Foundation is celebrating our 30-year anniversary, and now we have something else to celebrate, as we approach Breast Cancer Awareness Month [in October],” said Maurer Foundation executive director Susan Samaroo. “Thank you, True Partners—you are a true philanthropy group.”
The winning raffle ticket was drawn by Sherifat Amponsah, COO of last year’s grand prize winner, IAHD, which serves individuals with disabilities. “We extend our gratitude to the True Partners for their dedication to supporting people with different abilities,” Amponsah said. “IAHD used our donation to sponsor an all-staff celebration, which was an investment into the well-being and morale of the dedicated employees who show up every day to do this very important work and make this mission possible.”
TPNN is a Long Island-philanthropic organization comprising more than a dozen small businesses serving nonprofit providers of residential services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities along with other vulnerable populations.
“We are thrilled that the True Partners Nonprofit Network has donated $60,000 to nonprofit organizations in the New York area over the last six years, and that we have been able to make a difference in support of those organizations’ vital missions,” said TPNN chair David M. Rottkamp.
