Town hosts 4th annual “Brookhaven’s Got Talent” student art show

The Town of Brookhaven hosted its 4th Annual “Brookhaven’s Got Talent” Student Art Show on Tuesday, April 28 at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville, celebrating the creativity and talent of local students.

The theme for this year’s show, “Everyday Wonders That Make Me Smile,” inspired 60 submissions from 55 students in grades 7 through 12, marking the highest level of participation since the program’s inception. The exhibit features a diverse collection of paintings, drawings, and photographs.

“The talent and creativity displayed by these students is truly remarkable,” said Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico. “Their work reflects the joy found in everyday moments, and Brookhaven is proud to provide a platform for our young artists to share their voices with the community.”

Panico was joined by Town Clerk Kevin LaValle, Councilman Neil Manzella, Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig, and Councilman Jonathan Kornreich in recognizing the young artists and their achievements.

The program is organized and promoted by the Town of Brookhaven Youth Board. The concept for the Student Art Show was originally developed by a Youth Board student as a way to expand creative opportunities for young people in the community.

Each participating student received a Certificate of Appreciation from the town’s elected officials in recognition of their artistic contributions.

The artwork is currently on display in the second-floor Galleria at Town Hall and will remain open to the public through the month of May.
