Health & Welfare Council of LI to honor Billy Haugland
Billy Haugland, CEO of Melville-based Haugland Group, is receiving the Corporate Social Impact Award at the Health & Welfare Council of Long Island’s Endless Summer Soirée on the Greens on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Royalton on the Greens at 1 Altessa Blvd. in Melville.
Through Haugland Group’s partnership with HWCLI, Haugland supported HWCLI’s Nutrition Security Program at a critical moment when many older adults across Long Island were experiencing unexpected delays in receiving their SNAP benefits during the holiday season.
Recognizing that no senior should have to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table, Haugland Group’s generous contribution enabled HWCLI to provide emergency grocery assistance and nutritious food to older adults when they needed it most. Haugland’s willingness to respond quickly, coupled with his belief that businesses have a responsibility to uplift the communities they serve, exemplifies the very spirit of this award.
Beyond his support of HWCLI, Haugland has built a legacy of community leadership rooted in service, collaboration, and opportunity. Under his leadership, Haugland Group has invested in educational partnerships, skilled workforce training, mental health awareness, and initiatives that strengthen communities across Long Island and beyond. His commitment to collaboration, innovation, and philanthropy continues to create meaningful opportunities for individuals and families while inspiring others in the business community to give back.
