Career Day honors four Long Island students at annual event
Career Day Inc. honored four Long Island high school students with scholarships during its “Summer Soirée” on August 20 at the President’s House at Nassau Community College.
The annual soirée brought together students, educators, business leaders, sponsors and community supporters to celebrate the students, who were each recognized with scholarships.
“Career Day Inc. was founded on the belief that introducing young people to professionals and career opportunities can have a lasting impact on their futures,” said Beth Bucheister, founder of Career Day Inc. “These four students represent what our mission is all about. Each made a meaningful connection with a professional who inspired them to explore new possibilities, and we are pleased to recognize their achievements and support them as they pursue their goals.”
The four scholarship recipients were: Sharon Kang of Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School; Elaiah Visarra from East Rockaway Jr./Sr. High School; Yihan Wang from East Rockaway Jr./Sr. High School; and Winter Lara from East Rockaway Jr./Sr. High School.
