Variety Child Learning raises $80K at Boo! Walk
Variety Child Learning Center’s annual Boo! Walk raised more than $80,000 for the nonprofit educational organization that provides specialized educational services for children at four campuses on Long Island.
The event, held on Sunday, Oct. 4 at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay was a festive occasion, filled with music, snacks, games, and activities for children and their families. It also featured a Halloween costume contest with prizes for the best costumes.
The Boo! Walk was also an opportunity to recognize and honor three exceptional students for personal growth and academic achievement, all of whom received special citations from the Town of Oyster Bay.
“Events like Variety’s Boo! Walk are about so much more than fundraising. They bring our community together in support of the children and families we serve, while helping us provide additional resources and opportunities that go beyond what traditional funding allows,” said Janet Koch, CEO of Variety. “These events help us enhance our programs, explore new ideas, and strengthen our connections within the community. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, participants, and Variety staff who helped make this year’s Boo! Walk a tremendous success.”
Major sponsors of the Boo! Walk included The Paul L. Martin Charitable Trust; Jerrick Associates, Inc.; Suffolk Credit Union; Scott Berfas of Newmark; HUB: Ruth Stearn & Family; Jaspan Schlesinger Narendran LLP; One Service; The Law Office of Steven Alizio; BDO; Hanover Bank; Difference Card: Carrie & Paul Fleishman; and Thérèse C.
