Brookhaven Town kicks off its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Town of Brookhaven’s Department of General Services Youth Bureau Division will hold its Annual Interface Thanksgiving Food Drive from October 13 through November 13. The community initiative helps ensure that families in need throughout Brookhaven can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

“This program provides a means for families to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner on Thanksgiving day,” said Supervisor Dan Panico. “I want to thank all the students, residents, local businesses and Youth Bureau staff for making it possible for this program to provide holiday cheer throughout Brookhaven Town each year.”

Councilman Michael Loguercio, town board liaison to the Youth Bureau, said, “I am always so impressed how Brookhaven residents and businesses rise to the occasion of helping their neighbors in need. The holiday spirit is alive and well in Brookhaven Town.”

The Youth Bureau is accepting donations of canned sauce, canned gravy, pasta, canned corn, canned yams, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, corn bread, cake mix/icing, juice, Jello, and cereal. The Youth Bureau is also accepting donations of $10 gift cards for the purchase of hams or turkeys.
