‘Cookiepalooza’ marks start of Girl Scout cookie season

To kick off the 2026 Girl Scout cookie season, the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County will host its annual late night “Cookiepalooza” celebration at the South Shore Mall in Bay Shore on Friday, Jan. 16 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The event prepares Girl Scouts for their personal sales journey and helps them develop the skills they need to have a successful cookie sale. Activities will include a “Girl Scouts Got Talent” show, with finalists performing their own original Girl Scout cookie song, as well as cookie previews and creative snacks, and Girl Scouts creating their own original social media content as part of the “media girls” program.

This year, Girl Scouts will unveil the new “Exploremores” cookie: a rocky road-inspired sandwich cookie with chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond-flavored crème.

The South Shore Mall is located at 1701 Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore.
