Long Island senior living complex getting $50M makeover

The Sinclair at Port Washington has unveiled a $50 million, resort-inspired redesign for the senior living complex.

Led by architectural firm Meyer Design, the comprehensive renovation brings together redesigned residences, a new dining program, and a full suite of amenities and services.

Located on a gated campus next to the Harbor Links Golf Course and near North Hempstead Beach Park, The Sinclair is a rental independent living community offering maintenance-free living with no entrance fees or long-term contracts.

“The redesign is about much more than updating spaces,” said Roger Bernier, CEO of Chelsea Senior Living, the operator of The Sinclair. “Our vision is to create an environment that energizes residents and supports how they want to live. Thoughtful design, paired with exceptional service, dining, wellness, and hospitality, allows us to deliver a level of care, attention, and service residents have come to expect.”

Formerly known as The Amsterdam at Harborside, the complex was acquired by Focus Health Partners last spring.

The redesign includes a welcoming lobby and reception area, a lobby lounge and bar, social card and game rooms, and a wine cellar designed with a speakeasy style.
