New dog-friendly coffee shop opens in Westhampton Beach
Brody’s Coffee, a dog-friendly café, has opened at 115 Main Street in Westhampton Beach, in the former Caffeine space beside the newly opened Westhampton Beach Brew & Grill.
The café is run by Vincent Greco, a Manorville native who also manages the brewery’s two Westhampton Beach Brew & Grill restaurants. Greco, who had no background in coffee, spent the winter traveling across Long Island and several other states before settling on Druthers Coffee, a Stony Brook roaster and café he frequented as a Stony Brook University student, as Brody’s roasting partner. The house blend, a medium-to-dark roast he named Buster’s Blend, was chosen around local taste. Nearly all of the café’s flavored syrups are made in house. The menu lists about ten of them and four signature lattes: a banana bread latte with banana cream cold foam, a cookie butter latte, a pistachio cream latte and a honey lavender matcha or espresso, alongside drip coffee, espresso drinks, cold brew, tea, matcha, chai and plant-based Lotus energy drinks. Croissants, cookies and macarons come from local bakers, with rotating weekend sourdough in plain, Italian-herb and cheddar-jalapeño.
The storefront is part of the 115 Main Street property that for years housed Daphne’s, a cocktail bar and bistro. Brian Sckipp and John Salvaggio, who own Westhampton Beach Brewing at Gabreski Airport, took over the Daphne’s space this spring for their second Brew & Grill, a sit-down restaurant, while the adjoining Caffeine café became Brody’s. The pair opened their first Brew & Grill in April 2025 in a former Hurricane Grill & Wings in Manorville. Greco, whose family had run a Hurricane franchise in the hamlet, came on to manage both restaurants. The brewery’s owners later approached Greco and his father about opening a coffee concept in the Caffeine space, giving Greco creative control.
Greco repainted and refitted the former café with new counters and greenery, a nod to his interest in gardening, and hung a community bulletin board for customers’ dog photos. He plans weekend adoption events with local animal shelters and intends to direct a share of proceeds to them. Brody’s customers also have morning access to the rear patio of the adjoining Brew & Grill. The café lists hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, with lunch service and expanded patio seating expected as the season progresses.
Greco studied biochemistry at Stony Brook with plans to become a veterinarian before moving into his family’s restaurant business. He named the café for Brody, his 8-year-old black Labrador mix.
