BarkFest comes to Brookhaven Animal Shelter on November 1

The Town of Brookhaven announced that the Brookhaven Animal Shelter will host BarkFest on Sunday, November 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., inviting residents and families to come and meet dogs and cats in search of their forever homes.

Sponsored by Shirley Feed & Pet, BarkFest offers visitors the opportunity to meet adoptable animals, interact with shelter staff and learn more about the adoption process. The event will also feature a local radio station, free raffles, a door prize and other activities.

“With more than 100 dogs currently at our Animal Shelter waiting for loving homes, events like BarkFest are an important opportunity to connect these animals with potential adopters,” said Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Daniel Panico. “Our shelter staff works tirelessly to provide them with the care they deserve, but nothing compares to finding a family of their own. I encourage residents to come out, enjoy the festivities and consider making a difference in an animal’s life by opening their hearts and homes.”

The Brookhaven Animal Shelter is located at 300 Horseblock Road, Brookhaven. For more information, visit www.BrookhavenNY.gov.
