SoBol socks foot the bill to feed healthcare workers

SoBol, the Patchogue-based franchise specializing in acai bowls, green bowls and fruit smoothies, has added a line of socks to help fund its meal donations to hospitals and their healthcare staff.

The SoBol socks, offered on the chain’s website, can be purchased for $15. Proceeds go directly to a bowl donation to front line workers, including doctors and nurses at local hospitals. In addition, customers can donate 10, 20 or 40 acai bowls directly to Long Island’s front line workers through the company’s website.

Over the past few weeks, SoBol has been providing food to local hospitals, donating more than 500 meals directly to Huntington Hospital and Stony Brook University Hospital. The brand has also partnered with the nonprofit Carroll’s Kitchen that has donated over 2,000 meals to the Long Island community.

“We are in a fortunate position to be able to give back to the community that has always been so supportive of us,” SoBol founder and CEO Jason Mazzarone said in a company statement. “It has been wonderful to see our team come together during this trying time to prioritize what matters most and we know that we’ll get through this together, stronger than ever before.”
