Smithtown students work with restaurants for annual box top campaign
Smithtown students teamed up with local restaurants this past Friday for the town’s annual Pizza Box Top Project. Five area pizzerias participated in this year’s campaign, which aims to combat and raise awareness about underage drinking.
Local student volunteers put roughly 1,200 prevention message stickers on carry-out containers at Gino’s Pizza in Kings Park, MeMa’s in Commack, Monte’s in Smithtown, Three Bambino’s in Hauppauge and Branchinelli’s in Hauppauge.
The campaign is organized by the Horizons Counseling and Education Center, the Youth and Community Alliance of Smithtown and the Smithtown Youth Bureau.
