Westbury offers incentive to shop local

Downtowns and business districts throughout Long Island are urging people to shop local this holiday season and the Village of Westbury and its Business Improvement District are again offering an incentive.

The Westbury BID is giving shoppers BID dollars and BID dining dollars that can be used at about 50 participating shops, restaurants and other local businesses from Friday, Nov. 25 through Saturday, Dec. 31.

The BID coupons give a $5 discount when $20 is spent and a $10 discount when $40 is spent. The BID dollars postcards are being mailed to residents and were also printed in this week’s Hometown Shopper mailer.
