Two Long Island students win Dunkin’ scholarships

Two recent graduates of Long Island high schools have been awarded college scholarships from the Metro NY Dunkin’ Scholarship Program.

Sophia Augier, who just graduated from Smithtown High School East, and Vivian Guo, a Dunkin’ crew member who graduated from Mepham High School, each received a $5,000 academic scholarship.

Augier and Guo were two of the 10 area students awarded a total of $50,000 in the program, which is a partnership between Dunkin’ and Scholarship America. The program was established to recognize the importance of education and ease the financial burden of college for students throughout the greater New York region.

Dunkin’ recently honored the scholarship recipients at a luxury suite ahead of a Yankees game, celebrating their hard work and commitment to their education. Each student received custom donuts with their photo on them, as well as other Dunkin’ swag. Former Yankee Joe Girardi, a four-time World Series Champion, spoke with the students and posed for photos.
