New York Fries comes to Long Island

Long Island’s first New York Fries has opened at Roosevelt Field in Garden City.

New York Fries, which began with one location at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan 40 years ago, has since become popular at food courts in malls and shopping centers across Canada.

New York Fries is famous for its poutine, a Canadian favorite of French fries topped with gravy and cheese. The chain’s menu also includes fresh-cut French fries served plain or loaded with toppings like beef chili, pulled pork, queso and crumbled bacon. All-beef grilled hot dogs with toppings are available as well.

“This New York opening marks a significant milestone for us,” Craig Burt, COO at New York Fries, said in a company statement. “As a brand that got its start serving three sizes of fresh-cut fries and three sizes of soda in New York City back in 1983, we’re thrilled to make our official return and bring our fry-based menu to fry-lovers across the state and eventually across the East Coast.”

New York Fries has more than 130 locations throughout North America and the Middle East. The chain will also soon open a location at the Smith Haven Mall.
