“The Rhythm of the Knight Show Choir continues to demonstrate the musical excellence we are proud to cultivate in the Uniondale School District,” said Uniondale School District Superintendent Monique Darrisaw-Akil. “It is an honor to help these remarkable scholars develop their talents and provide them with opportunities to perform and succeed on the national level.”

The choir’s performance was led by director Lynnette Carr-Hicks and band directors Colton Wynter and Joe Boardman. Clifford Brown, George Hauser and Amy Clements designed the sets.

The Rhythm of the Knight Show Choir has historically achieved great success at the FAME Orlando Show Choir of America competition. In 2024, the choir was named the grand champion and captured honors for best set, best vocals, best choreography, and best visuals, as well as an individual recognition for best male stage presence for Uniondale student Cody Dumpson.

“The district congratulates all of the students, faculty, and staff who contributed to these outstanding wins at such a prestigious event,” said Darrisaw-Akil. “The legacy of the show choir’s success truly speaks volumes about the dedication, passion, and talent of all involved.”
