Local charity golf outing raises over $850K for children’s mental health
The Children’s Medical Fund (CMF) celebrated its 51st Annual Golf & Tennis Charity Classic on Monday, June 15, raising over $850,000 to support children’s mental health initiatives.
The inaugural Martin Lifton Humanitarian Award was presented to Steven Lifton and his son, Jason Lifton, who were each recognized for their generosity, leadership, and commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
“It is an honor to lead this charity in its initiative to support children’s mental health, and to see all of the support given to the Lifton family and CMF,” said David Blumenfeld, CMF chairman. “Without the participation of the Lifton family, our sponsors, players, donors, staff and volunteers, the event’s success wouldn’t have been possible.”
Proceeds from the event will benefit CMF’s recently announced $5 million pledge to the new Behavioral Mental Health Facility at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, part of Northwell Health.
