Daniel Gale Foundation raises more than $140K for nonprofits
The Daniel Gale Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, raised more than $140,000 at the foundation’s annual outing held on Monday, June 15 at Huntington Country Club.
More than 200 participants played golf, tennis, pickleball and, for the first time, game-table competitions. The event also welcomed guests from eight Sotheby’s International Realty affiliate companies.
The outing honored Mike Plunkett, chairman of LifeVac, whose career in business leadership and longstanding commitment to philanthropy exemplify the values of the foundation. Plunkett has dedicated both his professional and personal life to leadership, innovation and service to others.
LifeVac served as the event’s presenting sponsor, helping make possible a day dedicated to raising critical funds for charitable organizations throughout Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens.
Funds raised through the outing will support several organizations, including Pink Aid, Island Harvest, City Harvest, The Brooklyn Bank, America’s VetDogs, Nassau County Museum of Art, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and Arts Gowanus, among many others.
“What began four years ago as an extension of our company’s longstanding commitment to giving back has grown into something truly extraordinary,” said Deirdre O’Connell, CEO of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty and president of the Daniel Gale Foundation. “To exceed our fundraising goal while bringing together more than 200 participants, industry colleagues, sponsors, friends and supporters is incredibly meaningful. Every dollar raised will help us continue supporting approximately 50 charitable organizations that provide vital services and resources throughout the communities we proudly serve. We are deeply grateful to Mike Plunkett, LifeVac, our sponsors, volunteers and everyone who participated in making this year’s outing such a tremendous success.”
