Islanders legend to host youth sports fundraiser

National Hockey League Hall of Famer Pat LaFontaine will be hosting the first ever Spirit of Youth Sports Dinner in Riverhead this month.

The New York Islanders legend and founder of the Companions in Courage Foundation will help honor some of the leaders in youth sports on Long Island at the event on Thursday, Nov. 21.

The inaugural Spirit of Youth Sports Dinner, organized by the WVI Dolphin Foundation, takes place at the Residence Inn by Marriott at 2012 Old Country Road.

The Spirit of Youth Sports Awards are presented to leaders of Long Island sports leagues and organizations who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to using sports to improve our communities and enrich the lives of boys and girls in their charge.

Tickets start at $150 which includes cocktail reception, dinner, celebrity keynote and awards presentation. All proceeds benefit WVI Dolphin Foundation’s Sports for Good initiative.
